Desktop or remote access - it's your choice
DOCSBOX™ is generally accessed through a Windows or Macintosh client application, known as the Desktop Application.
In addition to desktop client access, DOCSBOX™ can be easily accessed remotely via a standard web browser. Searching for documents from any remote location, without incurring firewall issues, allows convenient access to documents, no matter where you are. Document management is no longer restricted to the office
Powerful change control
Critical files or folders known as "hot-folders" can be created in the Desktop Application. "Hot-folders" are polled automatically every 3 minutes and backed-up into specified office categories. This ensures that any changes to documents are automatically saved.
DOCSBOX™ automatically creates version numbers for any revisions to documents and records all variations in the legacy copy, providing an effective audit trail.
DOCSBOX™ is your intranet or extranet
An intranet is a private network that uses internet technologies to provide central document access and administration within an organisation. An extranet provides limited external access to certain resources on an organisation's corporate network.
DOCSBOX™ can be used effectively as a company intranet or extranet. It is easily customised to suit user-specific requirements, eliminating the need to build and maintain a costly Intranet site.
Automated backup
Automatic back-up of critical data gives you an affordable and easy way to secure your data from unexpected disasters. An optional "Hot-Swappable" removable drive is available, allowing for offsite backup and data recovery.
Financial returns
DOCSBOX™ can save your organisation or department time and money, generating an attractive financial return. This is based on the productivity and space-saving improvements that it generates through improved document management, archiving and retrieval.
Typically we've found the average payback period to be between 6 to 8 months, comparing very favourably with commonly accepted payback criteria.
